“I know and so do you that at the time she would never have gotten engaged to Benny,” a fan wrote on a June 3 TikTok alongside a video of Selena when she was younger. “She was in her IT GIRL era.”
But Selena has very different feelings on that period in her life, commenting, “Kinda makes me laugh because I was so depressed back then lol.”
And fans quickly came to the 32-year-old’s defense, with one commenting, “Benny treats her like a queen.”
Another fan added, “people who hate on the relationship gotta get over it. she’s the happiest she’s ever been.”
And that sentiment is one Selena has echoed ever since she and Benny went public with their relationship in December.
