Duduza – the Multipurpose Centre saw the sub-region E netball league recommence on Saturday. The Wings’ and K.N.T’s U15 teams competed in a game that ended in an 11-11 draw.

K.N.T was three goals ahead in the first quarter when The Wings players tried to score but had no luck.

Both teams scored three goals each in the second quarter, resulting in a 6-3 score to K.N.T. Things took a drastic turn in the third quarter, with The Wings scoring five goals and K.N.T. scoring only one.

With K.N.T. and The Wings scoring four and three points, respectively, in the last quarter, the game ended in a thrilling finish with an 11-11 final score.

K.N.T coach Lebohang Bangani said silly mistakes saw the opposition catch up.

“I saw a lack of communication between the players in the rest of the game. If you can defeat the opponent in the first two quarters, then it’s possible to win the game,” she said.

She highlighted how the team had played since the league began.

“They started well. Even in the log-standing, they’re not doing badly. They need to focus, and all will go well,” Bangani added.

The Wings’ coach and league convener, Jane Mayisa, recalled the game’s tough start for the team.

“They were still getting into the momentum of the game. They wasted goal-scoring opportunities.”

According to Mayisa, effective communication between the attackers and defenders is the cornerstone of a successful game.

The next game was between Dynamite and Leachville Shooters, which ended in a 16-10 win for Dynamite.
