Tsakani – Musician Sabelo Dlamini (46) has dropped a new single, Baby ngcelukbuza, produced by Joe Nina.
Born in KwaZulu-Natal, his love of music started when he was around 10.

“We used to sing for our late father when he was at home on weekends, as he was working and coming back home every Friday.

“All my siblings can sing, except my older brother, so most of the time they asked me to lead the singing and people were so happy.

“After my singing, I would get sweets, money and all the nice things any child would love to get. That is when I realised I have a talent,” explained Dlamini.

He decided Johannesburg was the right place to explore his career.

“I wanted to record and become famous, but after my father’s passing, life changed for all of us at home, as he was the breadwinner.

“That pushed me to get a job as my mother was struggling. I had a brother who was living in Durban and I asked my mother if I could go to him and look for a job in Durban.

“She gave me her blessings, but she didn’t know that I was going to Johannesburg and not Durban. I thought that coming to Johannesburg, things would be easy and I could record an album,” he explained.

Dlamini admits he struggled from the beginning, but he held on to his dream. He eventually recorded a gospel song, Uumuhle baba, with the legendary producer, songwriter and singer Joe Nina.

His most recent offering Baby ngcelukbuza has just hit digital platforms.

“This is one of the most powerful songs I have. I wrote it when I had a hard time in my love life. The song gave me closure and comfort,” he added.

The song is available on leading music platforms Spotify, Apple Music and iTunes.
