Acting Mayor Jongizizwe Dlabathi has joined the community in mourning the untimely passing of Tebogo Tshipi, the CEO of Tshipi-Noto Funeral Home.
News of his passing has brought an outpouring of tributes from residents, business leaders, and clients alike.
Many have taken to social media to express their gratitude and praise his kindheartedness, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to the community.
Most reacted with great sadness and shock when the official announcement was made on September 26.
The businessman and philanthropist has been honoured for creating many employment opportunities, especially for young people in Kwatsaduza and beyond. Dlabathi expressed profound sadness and a sense of loss as he learned of the death.
“This was a local citizen whose unwavering commitment to provide compassionate and quality service, care and support during times of grief positively impacted the communities of Ekurhuleni, Gauteng and various parts of the country, including neighbouring countries.
“Tshipi’s visionary leadership and dedication to excellence established Tshipi Noto from a small business to a pillar of service, while also ensuring that he grew his business establishment beyond the funeral business into various other sectors including fuel, hospitality, beauty industry, retail and farming – creating several jobs and providing food security to many in the process.
“He was also a philanthropist who assisted many members of society especially young people from destitute backgrounds and the vulnerable members of society through his community-orientated programmes and projects,” said Dlabathi.
He added that Tshipi’s legacy will continue to live on and inspire many for years to come.
“On behalf of the political leadership, administration and the general community of Ekurhuleni, I extend our deepest condolences to the Tshipi family, friends, and the countless communities that he so dearly and professionally serviced.
“We join the whole country in mourning the loss of an extraordinary servant of the people whose spirit and contributions will never be forgotten.

“May the spirit of Tebogo Tshipi rest in eternal peace, and his memory forever be cherished,” he concluded.
ProSafe was among those who reacted to the news of Tshipi’s passing.
In a social media post, Tshipi was described as a long-standing client of ProSafe and a pillar of the community.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones. His legacy will live on through cherished memories. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who knew and loved this respected businessman and community icon,” it read.
Bongani Nkosi, managing director of GS Funeral Parlor, said they held Tshipi in the highest regard.
“His illustrious achievements and relentless commitment to excellence have set an enduring within our industry,” he said, in a statement.
