Tsakani – Lungelo Ndlovu held a sip-and-paint event on November 9, which aimed to encourage art and self-expression through art while enabling everyone to unleash their inner artist.
She said she aimed to bring a different event and activity to the township, saying they often travel long distances to participate in exciting stylish activities.
“Local restaurants, pubs and cafés don’t offer us anything outside the normal. It is quite expensive to travel to Sandton, Johannesburg or other surrounding areas to enjoy and relax with a bottle of wine while painting,” she said.

Ndlovu added that sip-and-paint events provide a fun environment that enables everyone to socialise, express their creativity, and make memories.
She highlighted they focused on the process and not the results, saying this process allows participants to experiment with different techniques and embrace their unique styles.
“The event was well-received. The feedback has been positive and fruitful, and the event reached its purpose.
“I believe it also served as stress relief, as painting is a great way to de-stress and relax while meeting new and vibrant people,” she added.
