To enrich local communities, Carnival City, in partnership with the Afrisun Trust, recently donated sanitary pads and snacks to 300 girls aged eight to 13 at Tsimong Primary School in Kwa-Thema, providing much-needed support to help them flourish on their educational journeys.

The sanitary pads help keep girls in school during their periods.

“Many girls miss days of school monthly because they cannot afford sanitary pads,” said Nqobile Zwane, the principal of Tsimong Primary School.

“This donation is essential because it ensures our girls do not miss lessons, which is crucial for their learning and development.”

Led by Mduduzi Madonsela, Carnival City’s socio-economic development specialist, the visit met with grateful learners.

“The joy and appreciation expressed by the children underscored the meaningfulness of this outreach and reflects our commitment to uplift those in need,” said Madonsela.

“The highlight of the day came when the learners joyfully broke into song and clapped to thank the Carnival City team, an emotional gesture that resonated deeply with everyone present.”

This initiative is part of the continued efforts by Carnival City’s corporate social investment and Afrisun Trust to promote community development and well-being.

“We are dedicated to fostering the growth and support of our local communities. We look forward to returning and continuing to support local initiatives,” said Madonsela.
