The CoE invites residents to apply for temporary work opportunities through the Ekurhuleni Public Employment Programme (EPEP).

Young people, particularly those between the ages of 18 and 35 and people living with disabilities, are encouraged to apply for this opportunity designed to enhance public employment, help in the fight against poverty and support community livelihoods.

So far, the EPEP has recruited over 6 900 candidates, contributing to job creation and improved service delivery across Ekurhuleni.

“The city’s commitment to addressing youth unemployment through the EPEP reflects our dedication to fostering economic development and enhancing community welfare. By providing temporary employment opportunities, the city empowers the youth with much-needed work experience while contributing to a more sustainable economic future,” said CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.

To qualify for the EPEP, applicants must meet these criteria:
• Be an SA citizen;
• Be a resident of Ekurhuleni (proof of residence required) and
• Be unemployed.

Interested individuals must apply online through the city’s website – www.ekurhuleni.gov.za
The city will not accept manual applications.

The closing date for applications is September 16. The successful candidates will be contracted for six consecutive months, providing them valuable work experience and an income.
