Duduza – Zamokuhle ‘Don Gaba’ Dzanibe (25) is a music producer and artist born into and raised in a family with a rich musical history.

He said he was always inspired to make unique sounds with relatable lyrics and an unapologetic approach to music that defines culture.

“I used to sing with my family and play music in our backyard whenever we had the chance to play. My mom was the lead singer, and my younger sister was always ready to start a tune.

“Years later, I was exposed to how people receive music in the streets. I saw the joy of having other people enjoy your craft while I do it like it’s nothing, and I got instantly hooked,” said Zamokuhle.

He produces hip-hop, Afro-pop, and house music and is slowly venturing into gospel music, saying his primary focus has been on producing amapiano and other commercial projects.

Zamokuhle Dzanibe is a music producer and artist.

“My latest studio album, Indabuko, which means source of origin, has made quite a heavy steer across various social media and other digital platforms. For me, Indabuko is a terminology that challenges one to ask what it means to be African,” he added.

Zamokuhle said he aspires to work with Babalwa M, Mawhoo, Sjava and Kelvin Momo and is currently marketing their single Asibandlululi, on which he features Snob Sa LePantsola. They also plan to drop a 14-track mixtape titled Pina Tsa Bosio (Grootman Tape) before the end of December.

“The mixtape only features Be Musical and Lebohang Mabote. In January, people should expect another 10-track-long project titled Isgcebhe Season 1.

“My music is made to celebrate the complexities of our nature and honour men and women who made sacrifices for us to be. It is music that honours the people who raised us and celebrates them with our modern infused sounds,” he mentioned.

Zamokuhle ended by saying that his journey as a musician has helped him look at life from a different angle, saying that is what he wishes to share with the rest of the world.

“I want to be a better man and not just for me but for the future generations,” he added
