A 38-year-old man was hijacked along South Main Reef Road on September 4.
The victim alleged that he was driving alone in his grey Audi when he heard long sound on his vehicle and stopped to check.
According to Springs police spokesperson Sergeant Themba Tshabalala, as he was getting out of his car, an unknown vehicle pulled up next to him and an unidentified man then grabbed and pushed him into the backseat of his vehicle.
“Two other men got into the car, with one taking the driver’s seat and driving away,” Tshabalala said.

“The man in the back covered the victim with a jacket, searched him, and stole his wallet, which contained his driver’s license and R300 cash.”
The hijackers drove for a while before dropping the victim at an unknown location in Tsakane.
The victim sought help from people he met at the drop-off point.
The Tsakane SAPS responded to the call. A docket was opened and the case was transferred to the Springs police.
