Officers recovered a stolen white Mazda Drifter bakkie in the Tsakani area on June 4.
While on duty, the EMPD Bronberg Precinct officers received a tip-off about a Mazda stolen in Springs that morning.
“Officers followed up on the information and located the stolen and abandoned vehicle in Tsakani Ext 10 on the corner of Sam Smith Road and Xaba Street with the keys still in the ignition,” said EMPD spokesperson Colonel Lieutenant Kelebogile Thepa.
A case was opened at the Springs Police Station.
“Officer took photos and fingerprints for further investigation,” she added,
The vehicle was towed to the SAPS’ Aeroton car pound for safekeeping.
