NN Community Projects observed their 67 minutes for Mandela Day by donating pads to NN Ndebele Secondary School.

Founded by the school’s former learners, the organisation ensured the gift would help at least 10 girls.

Chairperson Katiso Rantlha delivered two boxes of sanitary towels bought from individuals’ donations made within the organisation.

“We are proud to mention the school was caught off guard with the items that would be delivered. This was after the school made an urgent request because they had insufficient sanitary towel stock.

“We saw jubilant faces when the learners received two packs each,” explained Rantlha.

They handed the remaining box to the deputy principal, Paul Valashiya, who appreciated the donations.

“He was ecstatic to know that whenever the organisation is asked to extend the school a helping hand, he knows which door to knock on,” added Rantlha.

“We all need to carry on with Mandela’s legacy by reaching out to the direst people, in this instance, the children who need to be nurtured, guided and supported in all that we can for their better future.

“Mandela further said, ‘There can be no greater gift than giving one’s time and energy to helping others without expecting anything in return and that our children are the rock on which our future will be built, our greatest asset as a nation.

“They will be the leaders of our country, the creators of our national wealth, those who care for and protect our people’.”
