Kwa-Thema – Tshepiso Paul (TP) Football hosted its annual award ceremony for the 2022/23 season last Saturday at the African Reformed Church in Southern Africa (Nyanyadu).
The club celebrated the excellence, hard work, dedication and commitment of individual players.
“We are proud to honour our players for their efforts, commitment, and dedication. We celebrate them to encourage and motivate them that through hard work, everything is possible.
“It was not an easy season; there were challenges but we made it through,” said TP Football Club brand ambassador, Thulane Daile.
He said two divisions did extremely well last season.
“The U11s obtained position two, while the U15 team got position four in the Springs Local Football Association.
“Hopefully this season we will do well as we start the campaign of 2023/24,” he added.
There were five categories in each division.
The winners in each division were:
U11
Goalkeeper of the season: Maranjana Ngcebo
Defender of the season: Manana Ngcobile and Manana Ngcobi
Middle fielder of the season: Owami Manje
Top goal scorer of the season: Masina Amogelang
Players player: Kabeni Gift.
U13
Goalkeeper of the season: Sibiya Siyabonga
Defender of the season: Ntombela Thobani
Middle fielder of the season: Mpho Maake
Top goal scorer: Mbodla Loyiso
Players player: Mpho Ramareu.
U15
Defender of the season: Siphiwe Mazibuko
Middle fielder of the season: Tokollo Malangeni
Top goal scorer: Nhlakanipho Yende
Players player: Siphiwe Mazibuko.
The club also had other awards, which are significant to the team in honour of those who played a vital role in making this legacy alive.
The special awards are named after those who have passed on, however, their efforts, commitment, and dedication are recognised and celebrated.
The special awards recipients were:
- Treasure of the team: Tiny Manje
- David Mabena Award: Mother’s Union
- Wonga Makhubo Academic Award: Kgotso Mohlala
- Reverent Vusi Mthimmunye Award for the coach of the season: Tebogo Mdhluli.
