It’s nice to have a friend in Travis Kelce.
After all, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end was so adamant on making sure Gracie Abrams shined in her surprise appearance at Taylor Swift‘s June 23 concert in London—where the singers debuted their “Us” duet—that he even offered to dull his own shimmer.
“Before we both went on,” Gracie told SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up July 2, explaining how Travis’ own surprise cameo was scheduled a few songs ahead of her performance. “He’s like, ‘I’ll mess up so you look really good.”
Praising Taylor for cultivating a “community of really supportive people,” Gracie—who opened for the Grammy winner’s Eras Tour last year—continued, “There is such deep joy and feeling associated with all of the music that she’s put out over the past 18 years and it’s a really magical thing.”
Long story short, the day was a fairytale for both Gracie and Travis, who performed as one of Taylor’s backup dancers helping the Grammy winner with her wardrobe in the Tortured Poets Department set of the show.
