Taylor Swift will always celebrate her guy on the Chiefs.
So when Travis Kelce scored his spot in the history books with his 77th receiving touchdown during the Kansas City Chiefs’ Dec. 25 Christmas game—the record for any player on the team—the Grammy winner responded by liking as many social posts celebrating his win as she could.
It’s a huge moment for Travis, whose touchdown officially helped him surpass NFL and Chiefs legend Tony Gonzalez’s record of 76.
And this isn’t the first record held by Tony, who played twelve seasons with the team, that Travis has bested this season. Back in September, the tight end also became the Chief’s all-time leader in receptions after earning his 917th catch—the significance of which was not lost on him.
“It’s crazy how things always come full circle,” Travis reflected in an episode of New Heights with brother Jason Kelce. “Being at the top of the leaderboard with the Kansas City Chiefs, one of the beginning organizations that made it all the way through that are still at their peak. And a lot of that is due to a guy like Tony Gonzalez, who has been a mentor to me.”
