The Ekurhuleni TVET College signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU)with China’s Shenzhen Polytechnic University to form a partnership.

The college’s principal, Happy Sibande, described the partnership as a relationship that would benefit the learners and the community.

“This relationship between the two universities will assist the students and lecturers in placements through exchange programmes. It will benefit us by using the shared resources from the two institutions,” Sibande explained.

Sibande and Professor Liang Zhaofeng sealed the deal at a signing ceremony at the Artisan Skills Development Centre.

Sibande said the MOU would open employment opportunities for the students after studying.

“We will form relationships with the Chinese companies in SA so that our students can be placed for the practical training they require for their qualifications.

“We are excited that out of the 50 TVET colleges in the country and eight in Gauteng, they chose to partner with us,” she added.
