Jamie Foxx Says He’s Filled With “Pure Joy” After First Stage Appearance in 18 Years
Jamie Foxx is sharing the details of his medical journey for the first time.
While filming Back in Action in Atlanta in April 2023, the Oscar-winning actor was hospitalized with a mysterious illness , which he now confirms was a brain bleed that turned into a stroke.
“April 11, I was having a bad headache, and I asked my boy for a Aspirin. I realized quickly that when you’re in a medical emergency, your boys don’t know what the f***k to do,” Jamie said as he became emotional during his Netflix special What Had Happened Was Dec.10, per People. “Before I could get the Aspirin [snaps fingers] I went out. I don’t remember 20 days.”
The Ray actor said that he was still experiencing the headache, so his friends took him to a doctor, who then gave him a cortisone shot for the pain. However, Jamie said that his sister, Deidra Dixon knew something was wrong, so she took him to Atlanta Georgia’s Piedmont Hospital, where he would get his scary prognosis.
