Duduza – JST Valentine FC U19 team won the bronze prize in the Gold One Development League after beating Sputla Stars FC 5-4.
The heated game took place at Duduza Stadium on Saturday. JST’s victory placed them in third position in the league winning themselves the bronze title.
The team’s coach, Nhlakanipho Tshabalala, expressed how proud he is of the boys for reaching that stage of the league which commenced on May 25.
“We wanted number one but I know things won’t always happen the way we want so we’ll just keep our head up.
“We observed our mistakes, and we are going to come back stronger and better next year,” Tshabalala said.
Tshabalala said he was impressed by the boys’ energy and dedication throughout the league.
“We want to reach other divisions such as ABC Motsepe and it’s going to take more hard work, dedication and discipline.
“They fought the good fight. Failure to win the league will not hinder us because our will to succeed is strong enough,” he said.
He added that the team is set to compete in the Bosso Ke Mang Tournament in September.
The last remaining teams in the Gold One league are Zizi Royal FC and Future of Africa FC. The two teams will vie for the gold and silver prizes on July 27 at Duduza Stadium.
