Duduza – Craig Dziva (21) is known on stage as Juss Craig. He is a rapper who discovered his talent through a playful time in class with his classmates while in Grade 11.
“It started as a joke in class after my deskmate changed seating arrangements. I made fun of the situation through a few rap lines that had everyone intrigued.
“I got into drill music. The drill instruments give me goosebumps and I find it easy to write on a drill beat. Drill instruments compliment my voice,” he said.
Dziva said after he realised he was a great rapper, he started exploring the possibilities in rap music and discovered he best expressed himself through lyrics.
He mentions he worked on amazing projects with many local artists from Duduza, saying he recently dropped an EP titled Speak, which is available on streaming platforms.
“I am currently working on a single titled Arigatou, which is Japanese for thank you. The song is about me expressing my gratitude to God and the universe.
“It has been a rough past few months but I can count my blessings. It is something to look forward to,” he added.
He aims to release a few more songs before the end of the year, citing he wants to create a name for himself by working with artists such as Nasty C.
“I want people to get goosebumps when they listen to my music. I always make sure to come up with crazy flows and lyrics to incorporate humour into all my songs for better sound and enjoyment,” he added.
He highlighted music drives him to work hard to attend big gigs and work alongside well-established artists in the industry.
