Man arrested for unlicensed firearm

A man was arrested after he was found in the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition on Sunday afternoon.

Members of the Highway Patrol were patrolling at one the hotspots when they noticed a suspicious-looking man at the corner of Maziya Street.

“They searched him and they found a firearm with three rounds of ammunition.

“The suspect failed to produce licence for the firearm.

“He was later detained at KwaThema SAPS,” explained Captain Neldah Sekgobela, Ekurhuleni district communications officer.
