Soccer and music lovers are in for a treat as the two will merge at the Celebrity Soccer Games event at Tsakane Stadium on July 20.
The event, presented by Jammin2Soccer Tournament, will comprise musical performances featuring various genres, including gqom, maskandi, hip-hop and gospel, as well as a soccer tournament.
“Among the stars who will be participating in the soccer tournament is DJ Tira, Big Zulu, Dumi Mkokstad and Khuzani.
“The purpose of the event is to sensitise the community to take their health seriously by participating in sports,” said the event organiser, Nelly Mkhabela.
She continued to outline that the event will inspire young and upcoming athletes and musical artists who want to become future stars.
“We also want to inspire those who have a passion for local music,” she added.
The fixture for the celebrity soccer tournament:
- 09:00 – Maskhandi vs HipHop
- 12:00 – Gospel vs Gqom
The two winning teams will compete in a final match at 12:00.
