Tsakani – An ATM located at the corner of Indaba and 12th streets was bombed in the early hours of June 19.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza, the Ekurhuleni district police have opened an ATM bombing and business robbery case.

Kweza said police were patrolling in the area when they heard loud bangs.

“On checking, they were met by a group of suspects who were fleeing from the scene in different vehicles and shooting at the police.

“Police returned fire. No one was injured and no arrests have been made. No money was taken but police investigations are continuing,” said Kweza.
