Speaker of council in the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) Nthabiseng Tshivhenga, officiated the swearing-in of two DA councillors on July 18.

Jordan Lotriet and Busisiwe Radebe took their oath of office in accordance with Rule 11 (1), (2) and (3) of the City of Ekurhuleni Standing Orders By-Law.

These rules make provision for councillors to swear or affirm their faithfulness and obedience to the Republic, the Constitution, and the council before the magistrate in a council meeting or at any time by arrangement before the speaker in the speaker’s office.
