There is nothing euphoric about the rumors surrounding Sydney Sweeney’s relationship.
The Madame Web star isn’t afraid to hit back at assumptions she sees about her fiancé Jonathan Davino, specifically any indication that her partner, who is 13 years older, pays for everything.
“I’m a very successful, independent woman who’s worked really hard,” Sydney told Glamour inside the Women of the Year issue published Oct. 3. “I’ve accomplished and bought everything myself, and I provide for myself and my family.”
Sydney, 27, and Davino, 40, got engaged in 2022, four years after sparking romance rumors.
And when it comes to their professional dynamic, the Euphoria actress noted that he has his own business ventures. As such, despite being credited as a producer on her films Anyone But You and Immaculate, he doesn’t have any financial backing in her career, which includes her production company Fifty-Fifty.
“I would love to set the record straight,” Sydney added. “You can be in a healthy relationship with someone and also be very successful without needing the man. We’re teammates. We’re in it together. And we want to see each other succeed.”
