Kwa-Thema – The United Church of Christ donated sanitary pads to learners at Khangezile and Kwa-Thema Primary Schools.
Sarah Yende, from the organisation, explained they aimed to give back to the community by encouraging girl children.
“We want them to understand that though they have challenges and discomfort with monthly periods, it is all natural.
“There are girls who also cannot afford to buy pads each month. We want them to know God is with them to see them through. They are special to us,” she said.
Church members contributed sanitary towels for the sixth-grade students.
“We hope that this gift will leave an impression in their heart. And they will know we care about our community and want to be part of every solution,” she added.
