Waka Flocka Reacts To Canceled Event

For context, Waka Flocka was scheduled for a D.C. meet-and-greet on November 8th, but it ended up getting canceled. Lax Wine and Spirits, the event location, appeared to cancel due to his political views. The company posted and later deleted a statement on Instagram that the local community had asked Waka to stay away because of his political stance.

“I am not a huge political or music person, and I truly had no idea about the views of Waka Flocka Flame nor do I share his views! My community has spoken and the event for tomorrow is cancelled.” Lax Wine and Spirits wrote.

Shortly after, Waka jumped on X to express his frustration, calling the shutdown a hit against “freedom of speech.”

“Imagine living in a country that was built on free speech to ultimately find out free speech is only given to those who dont go against the system… alot of ppl need to wake up… yall being used for a bigger agenda… free speech is free speech… my decision for who I vote for is my decision… yall talking bout freedoms?” Waka wrote.

The ‘No Hands’ rapper continued to explain that he feels the people who pushed to cancel the event are trying to make him look wrong for having his own views.

“One of my meet and greet events in DC was canceled today because of some people’s opinion… because they harassed a liquor store until they cancelled the shit… then they spin it like I did something wrong for having an opinion… thats freedom?”

Social Media Reacts

Whew, chile! The Roommates went in on Waka after his statement in The Shade Room’s comment section, with many supporting the event’s cancelation. Some reactions pointed out that people have the right not to support him based on his views.

Waka Claps Back After Claims Suggest He Didn’t Vote

Waka Flocka has faced backlash before over his political views. On November 5th, during the presidential election, a social media user exposed receipts that showed he’d allegedly never voted — despite supporting Donald Trump. The user, @LadyJMillz, shared a screenshot from didmyfriendsvote.org listing Waka’s government name, Juaquin Malphurs, with no voting record.

“Well isn’t THIS interesting! You’re registered but have never voted before, including for your previous Rotting Sweet Potato. Get in the booth or stfu,” @LadyJMillz wrote.

Waka quickly clapped back on X, telling her and everyone else to stop worrying about his vote, saying he knows we’re all “second-class citizens.”

Keep worry about me not voteN… Y’all mad because i know we second class citizens…. Idgaf but i pay attention to who ’n… my voice bigger then my vote.. ain’t no punking me!!! Fake Bully’s,” Waka replied.
