Tsakani – Women gathered in the spirit of upliftment to celebrate Women’s Day on August 9, at Grand Eat Out restaurant.
The ladies dressed to impress, perfectly emulating the colour scheme of chocolate brown and cream.
The MC Sifiso ‘JR the Worshipper’ Ramotsepe welcomed the guests.
The programme included a session where the ladies from each table engaged in a dialogue about the challenges they were facing.
A TED talk by a life coach and organiser of the event, Phumla ‘Phumla KM’ Khumalo led the dialogue.
She addressed the challenges the women discussed among themselves while answering their questions and providing advice.
“As women, we are often burdened with problems, but we remain strong. That is how we gained the name ‘imbokodo’. You strike a woman; you strike a rock.
“No matter the storms we go through, God loves us, and he carries us through those trials and tribulations.
“There are women who raise their children with no support and the children grow up, becoming educated and successful,” Khumalo said.
The ladies engaged in uplifting conversations while enjoying good food and music.
“Music is food for the soul. The women here today will enjoy music from DJ Elijah and DJ Lala,” she added.
She encouraged women to stay strong and to always believe in themselves.
