Kwa-Thema – Vusi Shabangu is organising an ANC Ward 77 six-a-side soccer tournament from December 1 to 7 at the Kwa-Thema Sports Complex.
The tournament is open to all age groups, and only 48 teams will be considered for participation. The affiliation price is R100 per team, and the closing date is November 29.
Prizes to be won:
*First prize: R10 000, a trophy, medals and soccer kit;
*Second prize: R500, medals and soccer kit;
*Third prize: R2 500 and medals.
Shabangu said the tournament aims to unite the community and keep the youth off the streets during the holidays.
“We want children to stay occupied and away from harmful or unconstructive activities. Soccer is the best way to keep them happy and hard-working. Boredom strikes harder during school holidays, and we want to end that,” he said.
