Duduza – Rapper Innocent ‘FiiEND’ Mahlophe (22) is working on a 17-track album, Kea’s Father, which speaks family values and union.
The album talks about family experiences, grievances and how the effects of those encounters have impacted the family and its values.
“The album also shines a light on my mistakes and how to deal with disappointment and emphasises the importance of forgiveness and the need for good fathers.
“I want to create an album that is relatable, real and authentic for it to resonate with everybody, even if you have not gone through similar challenges as me,” said Mahlophe.
He said he wants his songs to mirror the kasi lifestyle he grew up in, saying the album tells a story about the obstacles encountered as a black boy in an underprivileged environment.
“I want to improve my story writing abilities so everybody can feel every emotion on the album. The project does not feature anyone because I want to tell my story without a filter or help.
“The goal is to create fun, hype-y music to play at clubs and not necessarily push the boundaries of storytelling,” Mahlophe added.
He said he plans to release the album early next year to start the year on a good note with his fans and that he would continue to contribute to the music industry because it groomed him and taught him to work hard.
“I am learning to monetise music, branding, deals, and merchandising. Essentially, the goal is to learn the industry so I can operate an effective record label and visual company,” Mahlophe explained.
He added that he wants to inspire people to feel empowered, encouraged, motivated and worthy through his music.
