Kwa-Thema – Sixty learners from Zithembeni Primary School received school uniforms and shoes from Wesbank volunteers on Wednesday.
“We approached the school and discovered that many children who attend here come from informal settlements and families that might do with a little help. This is our first contribution, but we plan to do more for the school in the future,” explained Nompi Mnyakeni, a volunteer.
The group comprises FNB employees with the heart to go the extra mile.
The donation was worth R50 000. Nobantu Mgcina, the chairperson of the school’s SGB, said the group met a very urgent need.
“Many of our learners are disadvantaged. We needed this contribution. And we are grateful for it. We wish for all our children to receive something and have uniformity among them. The school uniform makes them feel like they belong,” she added.
