Tsakani – The EMPD intercepted three men in their 20s for possible dealing and possession of illicit substances on September 3.
According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, EMPD Specialised Services officers received information from concerned members of the public about the trio selling illicit substances to members of the community.
“Officers conducted a sting operation and proceeded to the identified address on Raditsila Street where they cornered two suspects who attempted to flee.
“Officers conducted a body search and found eight pieces of rock wrapped in silver foil on each of the suspects with an estimated street value of R700 and R200 in cash,” said Dlamini.
He added that in Tsakane Ext 5, officers intercepted a suspect with eight rock-like substances wrapped in foil with an estimated street value of R200 and R250 in cash.
“The handcuffed suspects were marched to the Tsakane Police Station while the seized narcotics were booked at the same police station,” he added.
The trio face charges of possible dealing and possession of illicit substances and are expected to appear in the Tsakane Magistrate’s Court soon.
